Track Parent Account Activation in Orah (Contacts Report)

This article shows school admins how to check how many parents have set up an Orah account, using the Unify → Insights → Contacts report. You can also export the filtered list to CSV for reporting and follow-up.

Updated over a week ago

🧩 Overview

In Orah, parent/guardian accounts appear under Unify → Insights → Contacts. By filtering Contacts using Account Status, you can quickly see how many parents have activated their Orah account (accepted the invite and can log in).

Why it matters:

  • Helps track parent adoption during onboarding or after a rollout

  • Makes it easy to identify who still needs an invite reminder

  • Supports reporting for admin teams and leadership

Applies to:

  • ✅ Admins

  • ✅ Pastoral Managers

  • ✅ Staff with access to Unify Insights

🧭 Step-by-Step Instructions

1) Open the Contacts report in Insights

  1. In Orah, open the left navigation menu

  2. Click Unify

  3. Select Insights

  4. Click the Invite tab at the right

  5. Select Contacts

2) Filter Contacts by Active Account Status

  1. Click Filters

  2. Under Filter By, choose Account Status

  3. Select Active

  4. Click Done

Once applied, the table will update and show only contacts with an Active account status.

3) Export the report to CSV

  1. In the top-right corner, click Export

  2. Download the CSV file for reporting or sharing

💡Note

  • This report only reflects parents or guardians who have been invited to create an Orah account (for example, those using the Orah Families app).

  • Parents who submit passes or requests using a Public / Secure Request link do not create an Orah account and will not appear as “Active” or “Invite awaiting accept” in this report.

💡 Best Practices / Tips

  • Use “Active” to confirm adoption: Active contacts have successfully set up access and can log in

  • Check regularly after rollout: A weekly export can help measure adoption progress during onboarding periods

❓ FAQs

Q: Does “Active” mean the parent has logged in?

Active means the contact has an active Orah account (typically after accepting the invite). You can also use the Last Active column (if available) to understand login recency.

Q: Can I see who hasn’t accepted the invite yet?

Yes. In the Account Status filter, select Invite awaiting accept to view contacts who haven’t completed setup.

Q: Can I export this report and share it with my team?

Yes. Use the Export button to download a CSV file.

🔧 Troubleshooting

I can’t see Unify in the left menu

  • Your role may not have access to Unify reporting. Ask your school’s Orah Admin to enable permissions.

The Contacts tab is empty or missing parents

  • Confirm that parent/guardian contact records exist in Orah

  • If your school uses an SIS sync, check that contacts are syncing correctly

I don’t see “Account Status” as a filter option

  • Try refreshing the page and opening Filters again

  • If it still doesn’t appear, reach out to Orah Support with a screenshot
