Buses, walkers and Transport Arrival

Move a whole bus or walking group along the board with Transport Arrival, use the + menu, and run Transport Rolls.

The bus driver doesn't need Orah. Staff move the whole group along the board, then sign each student out as they board.

Using Transport Arrival

  1. When the bus arrives, tap + → Transport Arrival.

  2. Choose the bus and confirm, for example "Mark North Bus as Ready for Release?" All students on that bus move to the next column together.

  3. You can use Transport Arrival again to move the group on to Released from Class.

  4. As each student boards, swipe or drag them to Dismissed. This last step is always done one student at a time. Transport Arrival never dismisses a whole group.

Transport Arrival works for any transport option that isn't Picked up, so you can use it for groups of walkers or cyclists too. Before the dismissal is activated, it can only move students on early or late passes.

The + menu on a phone

There are two + buttons in the staff app:

  • On a dismissal board (today's dismissal, while it's Not Started or In Progress): Scan QR code, Transport Arrival and Transport Rolls. On the All Dismissals board, Transport Arrival isn't shown.

  • On the Home tab: a floating + with Scan QR code and Transport Rolls, so staff on duty can start scanning without opening a dismissal first.

Transport Rolls

Transport Rolls are roll checks linked to a transport option, for example the students expected on a bus. Tap Transport Rolls → New Roll, choose the transport option and roll type, add collaborators if you like, then Start roll. Tick each student as they get on and tap Complete.

Note: A Transport Roll is still a roll. It shows faces and attendance, but it doesn't record who collected a student or move anyone on the dismissal board.
