In Orah, mobile number verification confirms that a student’s phone number is valid by sending a one-time password (OTP) to their phone. The student enters the code to verify their number.
Mobile verification is separate from SMS delivery. Students can still receive SMS messages even if their number shows as Not Verified.

🧭 Step-by-Step Instructions
Enable SMS Verification on a Pass
Go to Admin Console → Passes
Select the pass you want to edit
Open Form Builder
Enable SMS Verification
Click Save
After enabling this setting, students will be asked to verify their phone number the next time they submit that pass.

Verification uses a one-time password (OTP) sent by SMS.
Students only need to verify once unless their phone number changes.
SMS messages can still be delivered even if the number is Not Verified.
Mobile numbers cannot be bulk verified.

Enable SMS verification on frequently used student passes.
Use one main pass type for student requests so verification happens naturally.
Allow time for students to verify as they submit passes.
❓ FAQs
Does “Not Verified” stop SMS delivery?
No. Students can still receive SMS messages even if their number is not verified.
Can student phone numbers be verified in bulk?
No. Mobile numbers must be verified individually by students using OTP.
Can SMS verification be enabled on existing passes?
Yes. Open the pass in Form Builder and enable SMS Verification.
Why don’t I see the SMS Verification option?
Check that you are editing the pass under:
Admin Console → Passes → Select Pass → Form Builder
If the option still does not appear, contact Orah Support with a screenshot.
🔧 Troubleshooting
Students are not prompted to verify their number
Check that:
SMS Verification is enabled in Form Builder
The student is submitting the pass after the setting was enabled
The student’s mobile number is entered correctly in their profile
Student did not receive the OTP
Check that:
The mobile number is correct
The number includes the correct country code
The student has mobile signal
