Video walkthrough
A written overview of this feature is available in Orah's product changelog: Set up your Operational Calendar. A dedicated video walkthrough will be added here once available.
What is Operational Calendars?
Operational Calendars gives schools one central place to set up their calendar structure. School years are pulled in automatically from your Student Information System (SIS) and shown read-only, so your calendar structure always stays aligned with your SIS data. On top of that synced year, you build teaching-week calendars — either one for the whole school, or separate ones for individual divisions that run on different schedules (for example, a Junior School and Senior School with different school days or hours).
🧭 Navigate: Admin Console → Operational Calendars
Key features
Synced school years — School years are read-only and pulled directly from your SIS, so calendar structure and SIS data never drift out of sync.
Division-level calendars — Create a single school-wide teaching-week calendar, or separate calendars per division for schools where different divisions run on different schedules.
Weekday and time configuration — Toggle which weekdays are school days, and set start and end times for each school day.
Month-by-month preview — Preview a calendar's full month view before saving, to confirm it looks right.
Flexible reassignment — Reassign a calendar to a different division later without rebuilding it from scratch.

Review the school year(s) synced in from your SIS.

Toggle which weekdays are school days for that calendar.
Set the start and end time for each school day.
Use the month-by-month preview to check the calendar looks correct.
