This article explains what parents and guardians can see in the Orah Families App regarding their child's attendance.
Yes — parents and guardians can view their child's attendance records directly in the Orah Families App (requires iOS v2.0.8 / Android v1.1.18 or above). This gives parents greater visibility into their child's attendance without needing to contact the school.
The app now includes a dedicated Attendance page showing:
An overall attendance rate at the top
A chronological list of daily attendance records
A class-by-class breakdown, each with a detail view
Attendance Alerts
A new Alerts screen groups attendance-related alerts by date. From each alert, parents can take action directly without calling the school:
View Related Records
Add a Pass
View full Attendance History
Dismiss the alert
What parents can see
Overall attendance rate
Day-by-day attendance records
Class-by-class breakdown with detail views
Roll status (present, absent, late)
Reason names associated with any absence or late mark
Note: The "Excused" and "Unexcused" classification labels are not shown to parents — only the reason name is displayed. See Why Don't Parents See "Excused" or "Unexcused" Labels on Attendance Reasons in the Families App? for more detail.
Enabling parent attendance visibility (admins)
Access to the Attendance page is controlled by school settings. To enable or adjust:
Go to Admin Console → Contacts → Edit Permission
Enable or adjust parent visibility for attendance records
Let families know the Attendance page and Alerts are now available in their app
