Checking students in and out just got faster. Day School General Check-In/Out checkpoints now support Scanner verification alongside Pin Code — students scan their ID card or pass at the kiosk instead of searching for their name. You can use a dedicated external scanner connected to your iPad, or the iPad's own camera — whichever suits your setup.
We've also extended Automated Attendance to read barcodes, not just QR codes, so schools with barcoded student ID cards can use them for attendance check-in with no extra setup needed.
Quick setup
In Orah, go to Admin Console → Manage Checkpoints and edit or create a checkpoint using Day School (General Check-In/Out) mode. Under student verification, select Scanner, then choose your scanner source — External scanner (USB/Bluetooth RFID or barcode reader) or Device camera (uses the iPad's built-in camera, no extra hardware) — and pick the identifier Orah should match against: Card UID for RFID cards, or Orah Reference ID/SIS ID for QR codes and barcodes.
