Orah lets you organize students into houses easily so staff can manage them more effectively—and it only takes a few steps to get started.
Let’s walk through it together. 😊
First, go to your Admin Console and click on the "Houses" tab.
Adding a House
In the top right corner, hit the "Create New House" button.
A pop-up will appear—just:
Type in the name of the house or dormitory
Add the staff members who will be in charge of the house
Click Save
🎯 Heads up: Make sure the name of the house matches exactly with the one used in your student database. This helps keep everything connected correctly on the backend.
Editing or Deleting a House
Made a typo or no longer need a house? No problem!
To edit, just click the ✏️ pencil icon next to the house name.
To delete, click the 🗑️ trash icon.
~ When you go to delete a house, Orah will ask you to type the house name again in a confirmation pop-up—just to make sure it’s not an accident.
Making Sure Staff Can See the House
Once your house is created, you might need to update staff permissions so they can see and manage the new house on the Homeboard.
If a staff member can’t see the house they’re supposed to be linked to, double-check their visibility settings under their user permissions.
