Step by step guide to set up integration with your SIS Blackbaud

Enable Blackbaud Integration

☝🏽 Note : users enabling the integration must be a Blackbaud Environment Admin in order to access the relevant records. Your Blackbaud Administrator should have these permissions, so you may need to ask your IT team to assist with this. This is a one time authentication.

3 Steps to fully integrate Blackbaud with Orah :

1. Add to Orah in the Blackbaud Marketplace

To start the connection process of the integration you will need to go to the Blackbaud Marketplace website at this link and select the ‘Manage’ button at the top left on the navigation bar (you must be signed in to see this).

Then select ‘Connect App’ and enter this application ID: 5b522d27-814e-4499-9f08-a274972ef7bd.

After entering the application ID in Blackbaud Marketplace head to the App Directory in Orah and select the Blackbaud integration.

Via Orah App Directory, login to Blackbaud Account using Blackbaud's user ID and password for authorising Orah to integrate. Glance through the quick preview below 👇 followed by step by step instructions :


🧭 Navigate : App Directory (left side menu bar) > under the SIS Partners tab > Blackbaud

-Navigate to App Directory and select 'Blackbaud'

-Click 'Connect to Orah' to the top right hand corner

-Sign-in to Blackbaud
Enter your schools Blackbaud username and password

-Click 'Authorise' to approve the integration between Orah and Blackbaud.

Next Steps - Configure Records To Sync
-You will be successfully connected with Blackbaud. It would require further steps to sync records, read below. *Refreshing or closing this page would take you to Step 01 above*

Configure Records To Sync

Once the integration has been successfully connected, you can begin syncing different records / data. Configuring records is sub-part to integrating with Blackbaud, glance through the quick preview below 👇 followed by step by step instructions :

Step 01
Following the last steps of Authorising Blackbaud Connection - from screen 'You've been successfully connected with Blackbaud', click 'Next' on bottom right of the screen

All the records available to sync - Student, Contact, House, Roll Record, Pass Record, Groups will be displayed. Check all boxes to the left of the records to sync. Click 'Next' at bottom.

Note - It's advisable to sync all the records for smooth functioning, you can accordingly sync records as required.

Step 03
All the record fields with example grouped under the different heads will be listed out for Preview. Scroll the list down and click 'Done' on bottom right of the screen

Finished !

You have successfully integrated records with Blackbaud. It will take a few hours for the records to sync automatically, you can also manually perform a sync


Performing Manual Sync

If you don't see any data, perform a Manual Sync. Within the Blackbaud integration settings. Navigate to the 'Groups' settings and click the 'Sync' button. If a sync has already occurred recently then you don't have to 'Sync' again. Depending on your data, it will take its time to sync.

🧭 Navigate : App Directory (left side menu bar) > under the SIS Partners tab > Blackbaud > Find and click on Groups > Click Sync

If you have to remove a sync you can do so by press the three dot menu besides Sync button to the right. It is advisable to connect with us if integration is not working, reach out at support@orah.com or just click the chat icon on the bottom right corner of the screen. We will help you out !

Check for Integration Success !

To check if an integration was successful, check any of records for which syncing was enabled. We will check 'Groups' record to show as an example. Groups if enabled will appear in the Admin Console as a seperate item under Admin.

🧭 Navigate : Admin Console > Under Admin find and click newly created item Groups

If integration sync was successful, all the Blackbaud Groups will be displayed under 4 major category - Academics | Activities | Advisories | Teams with respective items under each category. If you cannot see the items under the category, try performing a manual sync after a while for groups by clicking View Integration on top right corner.
