Students can request recurring passes directly, giving them more flexibility while helping staff save time and reduce manual work.

This article walks you through how to request a recurring pass and what to expect.

🔁 What Is a Recurring Pass?

A recurring pass is a pass that repeats on a regular schedule - daily, weekly, or on selected days. It’s useful for situations like recurring appointments, regular check-ins, or ongoing permissions.

Previously, students could only schedule or activate recurring passes. Now, students can also request them. (Updated May 25)

☝🏽Note - A pass should have the recurring option enabled from the school side. If you do not see the option to enable recurrence for a pass, please ask your school to make a pass recurring from the pass type setting.

🧑‍🎓 How to Request a Recurring Pass

Students can easily request a new pass through the Orah mobile app. Follow the steps below to create a pass and set up any recurrence options if needed.

Step 1: Open the Orah App

When you open the app, you’ll land on the Home screen, which displays your account information, key features, and any assigned tasks.

From here, you’ll see a toolbar at the bottom of the screen with several icons:

  • Home

  • New (+)

  • Notifications

  • Profile

Step 2: Create a New Request

Tap the “+” (New) icon at the bottom center of the toolbar.
This will open a new screen showing the available request types:

  • Mood Check

  • Location

  • Pass

  • Form

Tap Pass to start creating a new pass request.

Step 3: Select the Pass Type

On the New Pass screen, choose the type of pass you wish to request (e.g. Weekly Swimming, Weekend Leave, Day Campus Visit, etc.).
You’ll then be prompted to enter key details such as:

  • Location (e.g. Boarding Campus, Day Campus, or Off Campus)

  • Departure Time

  • Return Time

Ensure that all required fields are completed before proceeding.

Step 4: Set the Recurrence

Under the Recurrence section, choose whether your pass is a:

  • One-off Pass, or

  • Recurring Pass

If you select Recurring Pass, you can specify how frequently the pass should repeat (e.g. Weekly, Monthly).
You can also set an End Date (e.g. Never, or a specific date).

This feature is especially useful for activities that happen regularly, such as weekly sports sessions or recurring off-campus commitments.

Step 5: Submit Your Request

After reviewing all details, tap Submit to send your pass request for approval.
You’ll receive a notification once your request has been approved or if further information is required.

Request will be sent to school, once endorsed/approved by parents/staff, the first pass will be created right away, and future ones will follow your selected schedule.
