A recurring pass creates a series of passes automatically at whatever interval you choose, so you don't have to create an individual pass for every occurrence of a repeating event — a weekly music lesson or a regular medical appointment, for example.
Who can create a recurring pass
Staff and students can request a recurring pass wherever the pass type allows it. Parents cannot — they will not see a Repeat option when they submit a request, even when recurrence is enabled on the pass type.
Creating and configuring the pass type itself is done in the Admin Console and requires admin access.
Enabling recurrence on a pass type
Step 1
Go to Admin Console > Passes and either create a new pass type or open an existing one. For a full walkthrough of pass type setup, see Setting up Passes (admin).
Step 2
Open the Rules section of the pass settings and turn on Allow recurring passes.
Step 3
Recurring passes need both a Start time and an End time. Go to the Form Builder section and make sure both fields are enabled and set to required, otherwise the recurrence option will not appear when someone requests the pass.
Step 4
Click Save to confirm your changes. Staff and students can now set this pass to repeat when they request it.
Things to know before you turn recurrence off
Turning recurrence off does not delete instances that have already been generated. Any passes the recurrence has already created stay in the system and must be deleted individually if you no longer want them.
The student roster is a snapshot. The list of students on a recurring pass is captured at the moment each instance is generated. If you later add or remove students from a tag or group, those changes do not flow through to instances that already exist — only to instances generated after the change.
