When a student has been gated (restricted from signing out or leaving campus), you can easily ungate them once the restriction period ends or approval has been granted. Follow the steps below to remove the gating restriction.
Step 1: Go to the Homeboard
This page displays all current student locations, passes, and gating statuses.
From the right-hand navigation menu, click on Gated.
Step 2: Locate the Gated Student
Find the student who is currently gated by scrolling through the list or using the search bar.
Gated students are usually indicated by a lock or gate icon beside their name.
Step 3: Click on the Gate Icon
Click directly on the gate icon next to the student’s name.
This will open a small action menu allowing you to manage the gating status.
Step 4: Ungate the Student
Select Ungate Student from the menu.
The student’s gating status will be immediately removed, allowing them to resume normal sign-out and activity permissions.
💡 Tip:
If you need to ungate multiple students at once, use the bulk selection option on the Board. Select all applicable students, then click Ungate from the top action bar.
