Here at Orah, we always recommend creating a test student to ensure your workflows are working optimally and also support your students if they have any questions about the Orah Student App.

  1. To create a test student account, simply add a student to your database and be sure to add some dummy information for a parent/ guardian on this screen too.

Tip: I personally like to call mine AA Test AA Student so then no matter what filter I have applied on my home board as a staff member, I can easily find this student and see the updates I am making from the student account quickly.

  2. When creating this student and parent account, please ensure you use a unique email address you have available to connect to an account (not the one connected to your staff account).

Tip: If you don't have a spare email address but are using gmail, you can add a plus ("+") sign and any combination of words or numbers after your email address and you will be able to receive these emails to your current gmail account. This is called an alias email.

For example, my current email address is amanda@orah.com, which is connected to my Orah Staff account, but I could send an invitation and connect to a Orah Student account with amanda+student@orah.com or amanda+test@orah.com and my email invitation and notifications will still be sent to amanda@orah.com.

  3. Invite your test student and parent to create an account and go through the account set up phase

  4. Once you have created the account, you should be able to see the Orah Student App and the Orah Parent Web App to test out your pass and location workflows.
