Summary
Homeboard is where all your assigned students reside on Orah. You can see who is on a pass, leave, late, gated, when the student check-in etc.
Filters on Homeboard are important aspects by way of which you can navigate to a particular group of students easily. Once the filter is applied it stays saved until the page is reloaded/refreshed.
Filters attributes :
There are 10 types of filters available
Assign one or multiple filters at one go
Filter use AND logic when multiple filters are applied
Meaning the 2nd filter will be a subset of the 1st filter applied and so on
βMultiple selection can be made for each filter component except for Late and Gated
Inside each filter component OR logic will be used
You can search within each filter components
Use Is and Is not feature to quickly reach your student's subset
All 10 filters are applied at once which uses AND logic | Multiple selection using Is not for a particular filter component location using OR logic |
All Filters on Homeboard
There are 10 homeboard filters as below :
House - student belong to specific house
Tags - Students within specific tags
SIS Group - Students belong to specific SIS Groups
Location - Students check in a specific location
In-transit Location - Look up students who are in transit to that location
Open Excuse - Students with Specific Open Excuses
Event Pass - Students with Specific Event Passes
Watchlist - Students on the Watchlist
Gated - Students that are gated
Late - Students that are late

1. House Filter
School is divided into units called "houses" and each student is allocated to one house at the moment of enrollment.
House filter is used to filter houses assigned to you
More than 1 house can be selected in this filter
Different houses will be visible to different staff users
Depending on the permission of the individual staff user or the role assigned
Searching is not available as on average school will have limited number of houses

Reach out to your admin for the below cases :if you don't see any houses in the list it means you are not assigned to any house or
if you have already selected a particular house via the House drop-down on the left

2. Tag Filter
Tags are an effective way to filter students into groups the school wants, be it year level, demographics, room number, student type day or boarding etc.
Use Tags filter on homeboard to filter out students via Tags created by the school
Eg. you want to check students for Year Level 4, depending on the tags created you will be able to filter out Year Level 4 students on homeboard.
You can also select multiple tags in this filter
Reach out to your admin if you see Tags but no students it means 2 things :
you don't have access to those students OR
there are no students assigned to that specific tag
3. SIS Groups Filter
SIS groups are visible only to schools that have SIS integration enabled and synced.
These are Groups or timetable schedules/meetings that are coming through the schools' linked SIS.
Use SIS groups filter on homeboard to filter out Groups assigned to you via your SIS
You can select multiple SIS groups for this filter
Using permission a staff user can also access other staff member's groups/classes

Reach out to your admin for the below cases :If you don't see SIS Group filter it means your school has not synced with SIS group
If you see SIS groups but are unable to see your groups, your staff account might not be linked with the correct SIS staff account
If you see your SIS groups but no students then it could be that there is no student assigned to that group on the SIS itself

4. Location Filter
Location on Orah is the way by which your school can set up school location into zones and sub-locations. Which you or the students can easily check in directly or via pass.
Use the Location filter to filter out students to a specific location
You can select multiple locations, sub-locations
Unlike the House, Group and Tags, all location is visible to all staff users

Reach out to your admin for the below cases :If you don't see a location it means it was not created on Orah
If you don't see any students after selecting location filters, it means :
there is no student at the location at that time or
you don't have access to those students
5. In-transit Location Filter
Sub-part of location - in-transit location means any student who is in transit mode, that is when leaving one location, in transit tracking will record how long it takes a student to reach their next location.
-Use this filter to filter out students who are in transit at any given moment
-You can select one, multiple, or all in-transit location on the filter
-All In-transit is visible to all staff users and is not bound by any permissions
-If you don't see any students after selecting in-transit filters, it means there is no student in transit for that particular location
6. Open Pass Filter
Passes/Excuse/Leaves/Absence are ways by which a student is excused from the class or school.

-Use Open Pass filter to filter out students on ongoing passes
-You can select a single, multiple, or all pass on the filter
-All Passes / Excuse are visible to all staff users and are not bound by any permissions
-If you don't see a pass on the list it could be because that pass is deactivated/deleted
-If you don't see any students after selecting open pass, it means there is no student at that moment on that pass
7. Event Pass Filter
Event passes are like normal pass on Orah but for events specifically. You will only be able to view this filter if your school has the Co-ordinate feature enabled.
-Use Event Pass filter to filter out students on ongoing event pass
-You can select a single, multiple, or all event passes on the filter
-All event passes are visible to all staff users and are not bound by any permissions
-If you don't see a pass on the list it could be because that pass is deactivated/deleted
-If you don't see any students after selecting event pass, it means there is no student at that moment on that event pass
8. Watchlist Filter
Orah has pastoral notes under the feature Nurture which allows staff to create notes of behaviour for a student. You will be able to view this item on the filter list if your school has a subscription for Nurture.

-Use Watchlist filter to filter students marked on watchlist while adding pastoral note
-You can select a single, multiple, or all watchlist types on the filter
-All watchlists are visible to all staff users and are not bound by any permissions
-If you don't see a watchlist on the list it could be because that note was deleted
-If you don't see any students after selecting the watchlist it means there is no student for that watchlist at the moment or you don't have access to the students

9. Gated Filter
Gating is an Orah feature that allows schools to take disciplinary action against the misbehavior of students. Gating students from going on leave or signing out to certain activities.

-Use Gating filter to filter all students marked for gating
-Gating is a single unit and cannot be broken down for further options
-Like the number of hours, days gated etc
-Gating filter is visible to all staff users and is not bound by any permissions

10. Late Filter
Late in Orah means the students who are late to return to campus against the leave pass applied.

-Use Late filter to filter all students who are late against the applied pass
-Like Gating, Late filter has a single unit and can not be broken down
-Like number of hours, days late
-Late filter is visible to all staff users and is not bound by any permissions
